Brian Fisher is the founder of Soil & Roots, a Christian ministry committed to cultivating deep discipleship worldwide.

He originally thought he would be a full-time musician, so he earned a degree in classical piano back in the 90s. But he entered the Christian media world, eventually becoming the business manager for a Salem Network radio station in Pittsburgh.

He was then recruited to be the Executive Vice President of a start-up financial services group.  That team built a brokerage firm, an investment advisory firm, an insurance agency, and an Internet company.  The firm grew to manage over $1.1B in assets before being sold to an international banking company in 2006.

Then Brian and his family headed to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and he took the reigns of Coral Ridge Ministries, the $38M international media ministry of Dr. D. James Kennedy.  Brian oversaw its restructuring and stabilization upon the death of Dr. Kennedy in 2007.

Then a large marketing/fundraising company asked Brian to join their team as COO. While there, Brian founded Human Coalition, a Christian non-profit committed to rescuing children from abortion using data, technology, stories, and top-quality medical and spiritual care.  It grew into one of the largest ministries in that space.

He then consulted with various non-profits while wrestling with the state of discipleship in the U.S. and around the world.  The result of that wrestling is Soil & Roots.

He’s a Colson Fellow, has authored five books (including the new release Soil & Roots: Cultivating Deep Discipleship), and has spoken around the country and in media about the state of the modern church, bioethics, and Christian worldview. He and his wife, Jessica, have been married for 29 years and have two young adult sons. They live in the Dallas area.
