Brian Fisher is the founder of Soil & Roots, a Christian ministry devoted to cultivating deep, transformative discipleship.
Though originally trained as a classical pianist—earning a degree in the 1990s—Brian’s journey led him into Christian media, where he served as business manager for a Salem Network radio station in Pittsburgh.
He was later recruited as Executive Vice President of a start-up financial services group. That team launched multiple ventures—including a brokerage firm, investment advisory firm, insurance agency, and Internet company—which grew to manage over $1.1 billion in assets before being acquired by an international banking firm in 2006.
Following that chapter, Brian relocated with his family to Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he became President of Coral Ridge Ministries, the $38M global media ministry founded by Dr. D. James Kennedy. There, he led the organization through a major restructuring after Dr. Kennedy’s passing in 2007.
Brian then joined a national marketing and fundraising agency as COO. While there, he founded Human Coalition, a groundbreaking nonprofit that combined data, technology, storytelling, and compassionate care to become one of the largest organizations of its kind in the country.
After years of consulting with nonprofit ministries, Brian began wrestling deeply with the lack of effective discipleship in the modern Church. That conviction gave birth to Soil & Roots.
He is a Colson Fellow, author of five books—including Soil & Roots: Cultivating Deep Discipleship—and a frequent speaker on the Church, bioethics, and Christian worldview. Brian and his wife, Jessica, have been married for 30 years, have two young adult sons, and live in the Dallas area.
